Pole Position had one awesome TV commercial.  A giant hand picks up a car with four people in it, shakes them out, and dumps them into open-wheel race cars.  The commercial promises the game will "leave skid marks on your soul".

I remember it.  But I didn't play it very often.  It was a cool game from what I remember.
