Bad Piggies and the original Hill Climb Racing (2nd one is a cash grab from what i've heard) are still going quite strong, in fact HCR still gets updates from time to time

imo the best options for mobile games right now are PC-to-mobile ports of games that have good developers; Terraria comes to mind first but i'm sure there are others too
