No one has censored Kimmel's speech: his bosses have let him go because he is a growing liability for their business. No one has the "Right" to have an unsuccessful and unfunny late night show and be paid millions to lose your network's money.

See this is not true it was stupid for me to post. This is absolutely not true. When the FCC censors speech it's not ratings that cause it. What Kimmel said is that charlie kirks killer was conservative. He was not censored. He was shot. He came from a red county in a red state he was one of you. Personally I did think it was possible that the killer could have been trying to frame someone just because we don't reward political violence in this country. Were disgusted by that person and all they represent. The FCC chair called the comments disgusting and called for swift action which caused all television networks to pull the show temporarily. But no this is not a case of a statement being unpopular and the network pulling it. The pulling of the show wasn't justified. But still we should be trying to come together as a country and denounce political violence hatred and now censorship. Honesty is the only way to move forward as a country

The show hasn't been profitable for a long time. It will only be even less profitable now. Kimmel isn't worth what he costs the network- so he's gone. It's just that simple. Television is a for-profit business, not a charity.

By the way- "He came from a red county in a red state he was one of you.": There are many people on the left whose families are mostly conservative Republicans. Ever heard of teenage rebellion? The political leanings of his immediate family members don't automatically make him a Trump supporter.

“The First Amendment protects speech from the government — not from criticism or consequences. Exercising rights doesn’t mean others can’t respond.”

“Criticism is one thing. Violence isn’t ‘criticism,’ it’s a crime. Free speech doesn’t deserve the death penalty.”

“I agree — we don’t do violence, that’s not the answer. But I can’t agree that simply exercising your rights means you ‘deserve’ violence. Living by the law isn’t living by the sword.”

And I respectfully disagree with your opinion, and I am willingly hoping that you can accept that

“We probably won’t convince each other, but I respect your right to your view just like mine. Thanks for the exchange.” And also I agree that we cannot change the world we live in, because some people choose violence.

“I’d rather keep it about the issue than me. We may see it differently, but I think the debate is worth having.”

“You don’t have to believe I’m new or genuine, but attacking me personally doesn’t address the point."

Dude, no need to put quotation marks around your own comments, it seems like you're quoting someone else. I don't mean that as an attack.

I see you just joined. Unfortunately, attacking others happens here. Hang in there, pay it no mind.

“Bringing firearms to a rally might be legal, but it doesn’t make things peaceful — it intimidates others from speaking freely.”

“In many states, open carry or concealed carry at rallies is perfectly legal. Exercising a constitutional right isn’t automatically intimidation — it’s just citizens using freedoms guaranteed by law.”

Also Calling it a peaceful hate speech rally is a contradiction in itself. Hate speech may be legal, but it’s not harmless.

How would you define the Charlie Kirk "Debates"? They were nothing but a mini maga rally allowing hate speech to be spewed.

“In America, disagreeing with someone doesn’t make it ‘hate speech.’ That label gets thrown around anytime a conservative speaks. Debate means hearing things you don’t like.”
