i hadn't heard about it, but those numbers are huge. the main thing that bothered me about the 2024 race at the time was how confident Trump seemed in the week before the election. i agree with everything whistlelock says, but this second term has been much more effective in achieving MAGA goals than the first term. it wouldn't surprise me if the brains behind that effectiveness was at work on the election procedures too.

I agree. It's way too obvious...there was something else going on. Remember when Musk asked rally folks to give him the name and address of someone the Trumpets thought should be contacted? And they were paid for providing those names? It would seem easy enough for a techie to cross names and addresses in order to have fake IDs that could be switched from state to state. There's so much to discuss. The biggest tell was when Trump stayed away from his podium until he knew absolutely that he had won. They even mentioned it was strange he wasn't in the room yet. Then, when he did give a speech he said "This is crazy.".... I thought, " was he hiding until he knew he got away with it? And he thinks it's crazy no one caught him. That's interesting. How is this going to play out?"....Well, for some.crazy reason, the dems thought it was better to concede rather than really look at it and seem too scared to call voting fraud because that's what Trump said of them in 2020. Nah, doesn't make sense.

well it's not too late to do something about it now. but the Party will have to decide.

We certainly place a lot of control into the hands of congress.

i don't know of any system of gov't now or ever, national or local, where there's no chance for misuse of power. the FFs did their best to minimize possible damage with multiple branches, checks and balances, and regular elections. now we see that unscrupulous people in large numbers can be elected and can gain control. the best way to battle that is to get good people elected instead. obviously we don't have a surplus of good people running, but crisis should be a good motivator. i'm optimistic.

I'm glad you are optimistic...means all hope has not been lost. My underlying current is hope but sometimes I feel so despondent and believe no one gets what's going on. I'm glad to hear your perspective. It has helped to renew my underlying current. 🙂

Yes, I have heard of this. And it's a thing that happens. You can see it in the 2020 race too where Republicans won the house/whatever race but Biden won the district. it's why there was a big focus on Georgia in 2020, because it happened to Trump. Drop Off happens.

When things like this happen, we go looking for explanations on why we lost the race we felt we should have won. The easier answer is "they cheated" and the drop off makes it seem like they did. Because if they voted democrat down ballot why wouldn't they also just fill in Harris?

But the harder, and more accurate, reason is they did leave it blank on purpose. Whether its because of misogyny, racism, anger at Biden, a desire to "send a message" over INSERT CAUSE, the result is the same, they didn't fill it in on purpose.

If you think about it and focus on it for too long you'll start chasing your own tail, and then all of a sudden your insisting on voter security and all sorts of things. Which is how normal conservative people ended up in MAGA post 2020.

Do I think they cheated and somehow removed the votes? No. Because the down ballots won. Trump isn't subtle or that smart. He would have had a Reagan/Nixon level victory with a clean sweep in the house & senate.

Thank you for the response. It's alarming that there could be that much drop off in any election. I don't believe for one second that that many people would leave the presidential box unchecked. There was a large turnout BECAUSE of the presidential ticket. The numbers in the GIF are huge! No way that's just people not choosing a president.

I get it. I agree as it is flabbergasting to me as well. But the district that elected Rep Marjory Taylor Greene also elected Biden. There was a significant voter dropoff for Trump.

These drops happen, but not usually at the scale where it can swing an election. But America is still a racist and misogynist nation- the people who didn't vote for Clinton, voted for Biden, and didn't vote for Harris. ARe there voters who voted for Biden because he's white & male but didn't vote for Harris or Clinton because they're female? Yes. Are there voters who would have voted for Harris if there had been a proper primary but didn't to "send a message"? Yeah.

I think that social media, and the prevalence of anti-candidate campaigns on social media, has made it worse. And this phenomenon has become bigger in scale.

But let's say that there is undeniable proof that the votes were not counted for Harris, and Trump won because of this cheat? Then what? There is no mechanism in the Constitution to address this.

The election system is run at the county level- not even at the state level. So, is that now going to be a federalized system? Do you want someone like Trump in charge of that system? Because that ass would DEFINITELY cheat if he had control of it.

But I encourage you to keep following the story. Go look for the answers, not a predetermined "they were cheating, and I'll prove it" but a "what happened here and why?" Especially if that "why" is one you don't like.
