I wonder why they didn’t choose the best unit at the start? after moving to the us I have difficulties understanding what a mile means and what are yards and for feet; don’t people have different foot sizes? I wonder what an ounce or a gallon even is, AND WTF IS FAHRENHEIT (jk ik that one)

That, and also extremely expensive to change all of the road signs. I genuinely think this is the real reason we haven’t switched to the metric system.
