This once happened to me on my old Nintendo⁶⁴. My little sister accidentally (or purposely) deleted ALL of the saved data in Dr. Mario⁶⁴, so all of mine, my mom's, and her siblings' high-scores in the game have all been wiped (I think the highest of them all was somewhere in the 70-700k points I think...).
I then had to play the game again and try to remember what the high-score was and then try to beat it (I was completely capable to do it, but I've never had enough time to do it since it would go on for >2 hours). Then I had to recomplete the story mode, (which wasn't great) and so on...

this was me when my stepbrother purposely deleted both my main Stardew files that I had, where one had 2 years of work and I was on year 4, and then my other one that I had 3 years of work on that I was on year 3 of

eh just use mods to backup your saves like i do

that's the worst part i'm on PS4 not PC......

if you have ps plus you can recover them pretty easily, if not you can just kill your stepbrother

and both times this happened he literally recorded me while I cried and he laughed saying it was just a game over and over, did the same thing when I was crying over the fact that I thought he was destroying my 7-year Minecraft world

Then tell him that you've been working on the game for years and years and that these games meant a lot to you and that he (probably) wouldn't be laughing it off if HE was in your position and to tell him to stop and stuff.

yeah that's the thing I told him that while I was crying and he was recording me while he was laughing and literally said "dude it's just a game I delete my saves all the time you can just build yours back up without the duplication glitch this time" and I was like "your just being mean! I can't even use that anymore because we don't HAVE a second controller anymore and the patched the other one!" and he just laughed more and kept saying he deleted it on accident so stop being so angry

we only have one ps4 and unfortunately I have to share and i'm not even allowed to watch to make sure he doesn't do this because my stepparent considers it "basically playing" even though i'm not doing anything other than watching, so if I do that it will count as my turn and I can't actually play or I've already played and then they yell at me for going over my time for watching my younger siblings

you can still mod it. It's just hard(like me)
