They're just marks from scooters drifting

Not if it's on a little scooter
Thats like saying doing a Manuel on a skateboard is reckless driving
Trick vehicles can be ridden in whatever way you want

Yes, it is. If you're on a public road, you need to abide by that road's laws.
It is if you're on a p[public road. That's why you stay on skateparks and private property.
Yes, they can, but doing tricks on public roads is reckless driving. Doing wheelies with motorcycles is illegal if you're on the road.

I don't know that roads laws
Besides, drifting is basically just turning around

Response to your last comment:
"Drifting actually has a LOT of traction...
And if there's no cars coming, no one's gonna be arrested for being in the road for too long. Even if it's against some minor rules"

What are you on about? Drifting is a lack of traction. Besides, I'm not arguing with the state's wording of laws. It says no drifting, so you shouldn't drift.

So you're saying if no one else is around, it shouldn't be illegal? Roads have laws, you need to follow those laws or else you get in trouble, it's as simple as that.

Btw, speeding is also illegal even if nobody else is around. Reckless driving is illegal even if you're the only one in sight.

Another response to, "10K for a $20 repair is unusual. Not to mention it would take 10 minutes no fix so a year is out of the question. It is unusual and cruel"

Based on my previous interactions with you, I know you're a Christian. How would you feel if someone came into your church and vandalized your cross? I'd assume that you wouldn't be happy about it even if a replacement was just hanging up two pieces of wood.

Hate crimes damage more than the property being damaged.
0 ups, 2d
We'd just forgive them and let it go 😊
Just kidding, I'm my eyes vandalizing a cross isn't a big deal unless it's a repeated offense, it should still be punished ofc

"Fent is different, it's extremely dangerous and life threatening"

So are guns, what's your point?
1 up, 2d
Guns are vital for our protection. So no one unlawfully assaults us, steals from us, takes our life unfairly, ect. People makes people kill THEMSELVES. The addiction makes them not think straight

According to Washington's laws, (where this took place) the definition for drifting is, "a driver intentionally oversteers a vehicle, causing loss of traction, while maneuvering a vehicle in a turning direction. [ 2023 c 283 s 2.]" No, it's not just a simple U-turn.

Besides that, turning around in the middle of the road is also illegal.

"10K for a $20 repair is unusual. Not to mention it would take 10 minutes no fix so a year is out of the question. It is unusual and cruel"

Possession (not selling) of LESS than 10 grams of fentanyl can be a Class E felony which carries up to 15 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $50,000.

Sounds a bit strict doesn't it? Well, maybe that's because they don't want people to commit those crimes. Don't want a year in jail and a $10k fine? Then don't take your scooter and intentionally damage the road, it's not that difficult.

Laws are laws. Follow them and you won't have a problem.

I think self-defense is great, but it's very rare that someone successfully defends themselves in a home invasion due to lack of combat experience, fear, and being surprised.

The point that I was making with guns and fent is that both are dangerous when used. Fent is not dangerous if it's not being used (the $50k and 15 years in prison was for possession, not selling)

This is kind of getting off track, but the reason for crimes having seemingly unfair punishments is to prevent people from doing them.

There's better way to do it

"Vandalism was the problem though, but it's so small..."

You're still damaging public property.

Washington State Legislature says in 9A.48.090 that "Malicious mischief in the third degree" is when someone "Writes, paints, or draws any inscription, figure, or mark of any type on any public or private building or other structure or any real or personal property owned by any other person unless the person has obtained the express permission of the owner or operator of the property, under circumstances not amounting to malicious mischief in the first or second degree."

They also committed a hate crime.

Washing State Legislature says in 9A.36.080 that "(1) A person is guilty of a hate crime offense if the person maliciously and intentionally commits one of the following acts because of their perception of another person's race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, or mental, physical, or sensory disability:" These people committed part B which is "Causes physical damage to or destruction of the property of another"

If people are so petty that they need to damage public property that has a representation (flag in this case) of a peaceful minority, they have problems.

It's literally skid marks. On a road. And besides, it's also a rule to not deliver cruel and unusual punishments. Giving jail time and a 10 thousand dollar fine to kids for riding over art deliberately placed on the road is unjustifyable

Intentionally leaving marks on public property is damaging it. Also, according to the witness in the video, they were using the scooters to scratch the road which is also impeding traffic.

The 19-year-old was released and the new law (jail and $10k) was put in place after he committed the crime so that others wouldn't do the same.

One year in jail and a fine for damaging property and committing a hate crime is not "cruel or unusual punishment" The law says don't do it, so don't do it and you'll be fine.

By the way, the money to fix the damage was paid for by generous donors.

I was slightly conflicted whether to post this one I found on X as I have had problems with controversial memes in the past. But then I thought it's about time to react to all this woke utter nonsence and it certainly got a reaction. 😁

I never understood anti-woke.
Woke is just being aware of discrimination.
I you don't like that, then what kind of a dickhead are you?

Being "woke" has meant being discriminatory itself in the past few years.
So now, the situation has flipped.

Oxford dictionary:
woke /wōk/
alert to and concerned about social injustice and discrimination.
0 ups, 2d
It's true, that's the dictionary definition... And yet, you can slap a label on something and that's not what it is at all. "Wokeism" is a perfect example of this.

The Wokeism movement isn't actually protecting minorities, it's giving them lip service and encouraging them to discriminate against (and attack those a part of) the majority. That's just as messed up.

How is the majority being discriminated against? Nobody gives af about you unless you're being "anti-woke" (a dickhead)

Would you like to send me some statistics?
1 up, 2d
I'd guess that most of them are closeted individuals who don't have supportive friends and family and were taught that it's a sin by religion or edgy 13-year-olds.

I've heard a funny acronym for the word woke:
Whatever
Offends
Klansmen
Easily

They're just plain old dickheads.
