Carving a little statue and pretending it’s alive and offering sacrifices of animals or food to it is 100% harmless (except to the animal) yet that deserves DEATH according to God. Looking at a hottie and thinking, “Yeah I’d tap that” — is now a thought crime and you should be infinitely tortured for a finite thought. Now little Adam, don’t eat that fruit!!! Eating a piece of fruit? Seriously? I remember my little brother and I picking blackberries with mom and dad and they’d tell us “don’t eat what you pick.” We ate at least 50% and when mom asked us about it, we both said, “NO I didn’t eat ANY!” We lied like rugs. Now, imagine torturing a child for all eternity because they ate a blackberry you told them not to eat. And the only way to get out of being tortured is to sacrifice an animal … or a human. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. How can modern people fall for this idiocy? This is just a bunch of made up stories by middle eastern goat herders and these stories don’t even have any real principles. Killing animals to absolve a made up sin? These stupid ideas have wormed their way into our way of life, our politics, our way of thinking and they’re stupid.
And if the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (what a crazy myth) really gave you knowledge of good and evil, that means you had no knowledge of what was good OR evil beforehand so … how could Adam or Eve know that disobedience was evil UNLESS they’d eaten the fruit? Not even Israelis believe their myths … they realize they’re myths! Yet evangelical, fundamentalist American Christians insist that Jewish myths are real. Suuuuuuuure they are. Just like the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Beowulf, King Arthur, etc
