Unfortunately, the sense of responsibility and power sometimes gets to some of their (not all) heads, leading to what is loosely referred to as 'security guard syndrome' or the (God complex).

That's when they commit themselves so much to what they're doing that they temporarily forget that they aren't actually rulers of heaven and earth.

Unfortunately, this is what we have to deal with in this particular situation (a rogue moderator and his over-inflated ego).
