Uh... I've played chess. The king is the most useless piece BECAUSE if you lose it you lose the game. The enforced value of the king means it's not good for anything. Even pawns are more useful than the kind, bc they can be sacrificed. The kings weak movement capabilities and enforced value over inherent strategic value means, in my humble opinion, that it is the most useless piece in the game. And that's ok. I'm not complaining about chess' design, rather just making an observation.
