Kings in chess CAN be utilized against each other, if indirectly. Kings cannot come within a 1 tile radius of each other, thus allowing you to effectively trap a king against an edge and use a rook/queen to checkmate him.

Quite possibly. However, I simply meant that a king can be utilized indirectly. I wasn't saying it was a good idea to use him, but the king isn't completely useless.

Well, chess is all about maneuvering your pieces to trap your enemy's king. It is, in part, the point of the game.

But sometimes you could mess up or the opponent could escape before it's too late for them…

In that case, it's just bad strategy. My point was that it was possible, not that it was impossible to fail. And besides, you only want to use your king in such a way if you are left with little alternative, as sending your king into the field is very risky.

Uh... I've played chess. The king is the most useless piece BECAUSE if you lose it you lose the game. The enforced value of the king means it's not good for anything. Even pawns are more useful than the kind, bc they can be sacrificed. The kings weak movement capabilities and enforced value over inherent strategic value means, in my humble opinion, that it is the most useless piece in the game. And that's ok. I'm not complaining about chess' design, rather just making an observation.

Refusal of reading is forfeiting any comprehensive comeback, so... I guess I've won in that case.
