I never got one back in the day, but a sibling did get a mood ring, and testing a theory that it was bogus, I blasted it once with a hair dryer. ONCE. That was the end of that, it turned one color and stayed that way.

i did the same thing for my teacher when her fish did sucide. her fish somehow jumped out of the tank.

In 3rd grade, our teacher got a pair of gerbils for the class. I was really interested in nature and animals, so she put me in charge of them - although the whole class of course participated in taking care of them.

Anyways, one day one of them got out and the whole class was scrambling trying to catch it, and it started running under the radiator along one wall and somehow the tail got cut in the process while everybody was trying to get it out. When I saw that it got cut and was bleeding, I just cried and cried and cried.

oofff...RIP tail. in kindergarten, we begging the teacher so much for a class pet, she got a sock, filled it with dirt and added googly eyes and put it in a cage and said it's our class pet.

There's always that one possible potential future serial killer in class waiting to break stuff when nobody's around.

I don't I don't know if that made your kindergarten teacher a jerk or just a nice person who improvised and made do with what she could to do what she couldn't otherwise.
