The 1st album was my fave, but it's been a while since I gave em all a twirl.
Talk about depression n stuff, I packed up most of my records when moving ages ago and never unpacked them. I crawled into a hole and never got out....
Speaking of being in a hole, I had my head somewhere similar when I mentioned Panorama and Candy-O in the same breath. Panorama was the first track on the--duh--Panorama album.
I always thought Orr passed away early into their career but he was there for all their big albums. Kind of reminds me of when Phil Collins took over for Peter Gabriel in Genesis and I didn't even notice until 3 albums later.
To me he's the face of all that went wrong with the 80s. One of them, anyways. Most (better known) bands went wrong then. I retreated to HC Punk in 82. And Kate Bush.
In the air tonight was the song where Collins accidentally discovered that gated reverb effect for the drums that wound up becoming a staple of 80s pop.
Courtney Love crooned a tune jabbing at Dave Grohl once, yammering about how the drummer shouldn't sing. Ironic since she can't sing or play drums. But all I could think of when she said that was Phil Collins.
Ugh, hard to say which is more annoying, but why is Grohl everywhere? Who is he related to?
Saw a docu on Foo Fighters years ago and Grohl admitted watching it, he saw he was a bit of a whatever. Guy is a total prick.
