yeah but back then a lot of the games were really bad quality and hackers were way more powerful, there was more of a limited avatar catalog, and the age restrictions were made to help even if they don't do it very well

difference is that back then the owners where not corrupt and things like online dating, age restrictions and slender where not as common as they are today. It may have not looked the best graphically but at it had better moderation and was not corrupt.
