Note that I've never played a 2d Mario game before. Only a small amount of odyssey.

If you thought that was brutal, then you shouldn't play the classic 2d games, if Mario Wonder was brutal then the original Super Mario Bros. is the meteor that killed the dinosaurs.

Wonder is 3D. The games before DS and N64 were the 2D ones. But yes, they are brutal.

In 2d you move in two dimensions, left right up down.

In 3d you move in three, left right up down forward back.

When I said 2d I wasn't referring to the graphics, I was referring to the gameplay.

You think THAT is hard? Try completing Super Mario Odyssey to a 100% without walk-throughs or Assist Mode. The last Power Moon of the game was so unobtainable without Assist Mode that I had NO CHOICE but to use it, and now, I can constantly hear Mario mocking me in my head!

Now I know why Bowser hates him so much.

Darker Side... It is IMPOSSIBLE for me!

Okay, so this is going to be a rather lengthy explanation in my words, so bear with me.

I won't spoil much, but I will say this. The last moon is on the Darker Side, after kicking the fluffy cotton tails of the Broodals on the Dark Side post game. It. Is. HELL. More Hell than just the Dark Side. Now, technically, it is meant to be the last moon anyone would get, so of course it would probably the hardest moon to get in most eyes. But, still, that doesn't make it any less unfair! I had no choice but to get the last moon with Assist Mode activated and I never came back to that game ever since. Being forced to use Assist Mode to get the last moon and finally 100% Super Mario Odyssey really humiliated me that much.
