i mean the movie itself isnt bad ig and the ending had some good parts
but I just really hate how it portrays men and patriarchy in general, it honestly pisses me off that it's depicting men (or rather, men in power) as assholes. the fact that in the beninigngig the first interaction barbie had with real men is creepy. i know creepy men do exist, but the movie constantly shoves it in my face that masculinity is bad and toxic. i hate how near the conflict, every ken is a toxic piece of shit that treats the barbies like objects, which is not how most men act (afaik). it's just disrespectful as hell and I felt like the idea of feminism was shoved in my face. i;ll give credit where it's due, it portrays the kens as people that misunderstood it and just want some love, but I still hated how much that idea of "patriarchy bad, men toxic, women need to be at the top, women best" was present. maybe I don't understand, but that's how it looked like to me. not every woman needs to be rising to the top. i don't want to be in charge of a company. just because a man is a CEO doesn't mean that women are disrespected.
