I wasn't a fan of the first Sonic movie but enjoyed the second one. It wasn't incredible but enjoyable. I loved Detective Pikachu, but non-Pokemon fans thought it was just meh. I'm hoping this is the first one that almost everyone can agree that it's good

True, but I was a huge Sonic fanatic at the time I watched the first Sonic movie so I thought it was the best movie in the world, and I haven't seen the second one, or watched Detective Pikachu in years but remembered that Greninjas and giant Torterras are in it so I love it

It's because i like Sonic that i didn't really like the first one. I hated the casting of Jim carey because he was nothing like Eggman. And the storyline just didn't feel Sonic enough to me. The second one was an improvement tho

Because he wasn't even trying to be Eggman, he was just being Jim carey like in every other Jim carey movie. I can't imagine Eggman doing half the stuff that he did in the movie
