Last year before reving this profile, had one going on for days, saying those fellas were um, well, not missionaries and that "Mormon men can become the God of their own planet" thing was Scientology and their new temple/church whatev off Fordham Rd did not exist nor the temporary one round the corner where I lived that my neighbors ran. Person was a Cajun who converted too, yet knew nothing while claiming I was babbling bs.

Those missionaries were real nice too, was sad when they moved out.

I don't know if this is a custom, but a couple of other Mormons on this site that I've discussed the religion with seem to be totally oblivious to various aspects of the sect, from this to even missionaries - one telling me I was in error about some who were living in the building I lived at and the temple/church they ran nearby because missionaries are only supposed to be elderly!

Mind you, Mormans in Utah as a whole were forced by the US Goverment to end polygamy, a practice which tended to include many a child bride.

Many went underground, and various Mormon sects still practice it today, such as that headed by the infamous Warren Jeffs or the Knights of the Crystal Blade.

And underage Mormon brides throughout Utah is still quite an issue, as you can see.
