That cat looks to either be a Turkish Van or have that breed mixed in. We had a Turkish Van before. We don't intentionally pick out purebreds but have come across them by chance. Most were rescues. Turkish Vans are characters and tyrants but still not as insane as Turkish Angoras. We have one of them now and a Bombay with copper eyes & looks like a black panther and the stereotype Halloween cat and is also very muscular and big and a Snowshoe who, unlike grumpy cat, is a giant whereas she was a dwarf and he's blue pointed. Size of a Maine Coon and gorgeous but very mischievous and demands attention as are oriental breeds and especially when they imitate everything an Angora does. They own everything. We're just the housekeeping staff. Pretty cat! He/she has the look of flipping you off back or like it's saying "whatever"

Wow! Your comment really enlightening us! We picked her up almost 2 years ago from a rescue. They didn’t identify the breed, and we had no idea. We looked it up after your post. She seems to be that exactly.

Yeah it appears that's the case with yours. Much of the Turkish Vans have that rust color and white which ours did but some have other colors and calico markings on long hair especially are quite pretty. Their hair doesn't get knotted up like the Persian. Angoras have such a soft angora feeling fur and they look like they need a bath unless people who show them in shows bathe them with drying shampoo. Their hair is very oily but normal and only needs washing if they're going to be shown. Also angoras come in all colors not only white but many try to get the white angora with the odd eye which is one is blue and the other is another color. The old cartoons would typically have the girl cat being white with long hair and elegant. Those were supposed to be angoras. Apparently that's where long hair breeds came from

A lot of my time online has been reading about the Turkish Van cats!
My wife and I find it fascinating, because we’ve had her for a year and a half, and when we read the stories, and look at the pictures, we can relate.
We are thinking of testing a large tray of shallow water to see what she does, although there’s no reason to start something like that.
We might create a monster, lol.
I’m glad we have her, she is the fifth cat we’ve had, and are glad to have time with one like this. You have opened our eyes.
That supports my stance that I learn stuff on imgflip, lol, it qualifies as educational :-)
