If you talk to another guy in either that village or another one (I don't remember which) he says "I am Bagu" which is Japanese for bug. So, error and bug, both of which are terms for a glitch in the game or the code.

Neat! So I wonder if the Zelda team did that on purpose... hmm...

Oh, right. I can't remember Japanese names. But I'm pretty sure that that was intended. For they would have had to code it into the game and I'm pretty sure they would have noticed it. Also, I have the Encyclopedia of Zelda, which they do talk about Error, so I'm pretty sure this was for laughs and just for a memorable quote.
