Come on man, we've had this discussion at least TWICE. In one after I said at least 2 had State religions on the books (Mass? & Virginia? Not sure, been a while), 1 of those even having a religious test required to hold state office. You looked it up, verified it for yourself, and added what?
It's all about State's Rights, and the worries that the 13 nations - yes, the Federation of United States of America is NOT a country - would have control from a centralized federal gov't supplant theirs.
The 2nd Amendment's recent Supreme Court finding in 2007 aside, basically gave free men the right to get conscripted into military service FOR FREE! So they best have their rifles ready. Yeah, you have the right to get drafted and at your own cost ta boot. Awesome.
Like I said 11hrs ago,
"Why is it that the 2 most cited Amendements - the 1st & the 2nd - are cited by people who've never bothered to read them?"
The 2 most overused, abused, and misunderstood Amendments ever.
