We have a cowboy, 2 guys from a Mad Max movie, a cyborg ninja, a talking gorilla, and a robot throwing balls at people. The intelligent hamster in a mech makes as much sense as the rest.
It actually makes more sense because they would have had to test the stuff they did on the apes on rodents first, just like we do with animal testing irl.
