The loading dock is 4ft up. They'd have to lift them all back up if they're intentionally unloading to the back of the store. Would have been easier to just push them all out in the first place if so.

In the full video you see the driver pull away again, just making it even worse!

I worked at a place where a fork truck was being driven onto a trailer and at that precise moment the truck driver started to pull the trailer away because he thought that the trailer was empty. Anyway the fork truck came off the dock and landed in the parking lot, with the forks buried in the pavement. Good thing the fork truck driver had his seat belt on or he could have died. To stop it from happening again all drivers have to block their tires and give their keys to the dock personell.

That's a scary situation! I was thinking you were going to say the fork lift driver jumped off to the side or something. That's got to be a pretty hard and fast drop.

I've been lucky enough I only worked a total of 3 days in a grocery store, and never got trained on any of the equipment...lol

Management said that if the guy didn't follow protocol (buckle up) and jumped he could have gotten crushed if the fork truck landed on it's side.

Very true. No guarantee the forks would have stuck in the ground!
