Hitler was actually 1/8 Jewish, which some people think may account for part of his resentment of them. Locals gossiped about this,so the family moved from place to place trying to find a town that hadn't heard the rumors. But his crazy abusive father was probably another factor. At one point he was quoted as saying "If the Jews didn't exist, we would have had to invent them," meaning they were a convenient scapegoat for Germany's economic woes, so the plot thickens.
