I can't argue nor comment on the first bit as you didn't mention a country. But I definitely believe that there has been an increase of suicides. That said. COVID-19 is definitely more deadly than the flu.
Per an estimate of WHO there is an average of 650.000 deaths each year related to flu [1]. Versus the current death toll of COVID-19 which is already around 1.1 Million [2] [3] and climbing.
Actually, that depends per country [1]. And also calculating the CFR (Case Fatality Ratio) is a complicated beast by itself [2]. Besides that, even if it's about 2% and even if most that die from it are over 65 you're forgetting a very important bit. And that is the fact that if all hospitals are full with people over 65, guess who also are screwed? The people under that age group who have other diseases and or need medical care. Do with that as you please, but your comment is quite insensitive and seems a downplay on something serious ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
