He goes with Luke to train at Luke's academy. Kylo wipes out the entire academy. Ep8 is literally called "The LAST Jedi". Until other canon content comes out that says otherwise (like baby yoda becomes a Mandalorian wielding the Darksaber or something) this is the likely canon outcome.
