This simply is not true..............Andy was a widower but eventually married again to, Helen Crump in the first episode of Mayberry RFD, Barney married, Thelma Lou in Return to Mayberry, Floyd was married in the beginning but we never saw his wife and they had a son, Emmett was married, Otis was married, Briscoe Darling was a widower, Clara was a widow, Howard's mother was a widow, Fred and Jennie Boone were married, Charlene Darling was married to, Dud Wash, Mayor Stoner was married, Sam Jones was a widower, Lester and Helen Scobey were married, and Andy married, Hannah Carter to Josh Wakefield, Tom and Annabelle Silby were married, Orville Hendricks was married, Rose and Wilbur Pine were married, Rafe Hollister was married, Uncle Ollie and Aunt Nora was married, Sam Becker was married ....and there's probably many more but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
