One time, some kids in a 5th-6th grade class at my school wrote something inappropriate with chalk, and BOTH GRADES were banned from the yard with the play structures and stuff and were banished to the soccer field. And the next year, we were still forced to go there for recess. Even the teachers thought it was stupid.
