"Primal" usually refers to something that is of the dinosaur age, which usually means it is more ancient. We tend to think that things that are more ancient are worse than what we have today. However, the lore disproves this assumption when it comes to primagens.

We only think that primagens are primal because of the prefix: "prima." But you must also consider that protogens are only a prototype; which is where the prefix comes from.

Plus he can emanate an increased amount of body heat at will, so he's even MORE huggable.
