For those who are interested in the toy, it's a vintage Johnny Eagle M-14 rifle. For those who think toy guns cause violence, the boy in this photo never shot up a school or any other place other than a target range. Today he's an officer in the U.S. Army.

I had one of those too when I was a kid (a BAR) before I got the .30 cal Browning (the Sears catalog in those days also had an air-cooled .30)

It went for 138 bucks on eBay - but I had one when I was a kid (of course it didn't survive childhood)!
