The Jinn Jibril appeared in 610 to Muhammad and he believed he was possessed by him. He died unexpectedly 22 years later. He tried to throw himself from Mount Hira several times, but his delusions kept him from doing so. His paranoia was strong. 4 years later, he believed that he was commissioned by Allah to spread his monotheistic faith. He preached secretly in Mecca until he had the courage to preach publicly in front of a larger audience. The Meccans let him preach until they could no longer stand him and threw garbage at him. His Uncle Abu Lahab from the Hāshimite tribe said: 'May you perish. I can see nothing in you of the things that Muhammad says.' The mockery and contempt for him grew, his house was pelted with offal. Muhammad adopted the polytheism of the Quraysh, abolished all but one of the pseudo-gods and secretly preached monotheism with the one true pseudo-god. Most paranoids die not by suicide but by heart attack or stroke. In many cases, delusions are part of the clinical picture, and sometimes do people become dangerous because of their paranoia. By the time of Muhammad's unexpected death in 632 CE, he had united Arabia into a single Muslim religious polity.
