When you discover it's essentially the same chord progression and timing at the root of both songs. Lots of weird fun stuff you can find to mash up together, like Ozzy Osbournes Mr Crowley and Foreigner's Blue Morning. Same key and timing often fit together. April Wine did a great one in the 70's, they took Beatles Day Tripper and Stones Satisfaction and played them over each other.
