Ash caught a ton of new pokemon in Journeys and will probably be written out of the anime in the end, and for those who've wanted him to have since Sinnoh he finally got a Lucario.
At least Ash is back to his Sinnoh and Kalos battling form + his alola battle experience that never left him. In Kalos and Alola Pikachu knew Electroball, and lron tail, and has known those moves ever since the beginning of Kalos.
