Dear poor people, and working middle class people:
We am VERY concerned about your welfare programs paid for with OUR taxes, and on principle we need to CUT CUT CUT those programs, and we must have a full on INQUISITION for ANY fraud of ANY kind from you moochers. We and other RESPONSIBLE taxpayers demand it. You don't deserve food stamps. Investing in your education is not a worthwhile investment. Pay for your own retirement, no guarantees from big gov. Your healthcare will be left up to the free market. Work harder and stop complaining. In the most successful economy with off the charts worker productivity 40 hours is not enough! Oh, and don't ask for a higher minimum wage either. That might hurt the job creators!
Dear Elite capitalists:
Do you need any more tax cuts? They pay for themselves don't you know. Do you need us to funnel any more money into the military industrial complex, even if we need to start a war? We can't put a price on our nation's safety and military hardware, and not supporting that would be unpatriotic. Everyone wants to be a patriot, right? Do you need us to cut environmental regulations? They're so oppressive and holding back jobs, you only have a responsibility to the free market, not some silly environmental crap! Do you need us to make healthcare purely free market so you can charge whatever you want for drugs and treatment? Do you need us to cut Wall Street regulation? We're listening! Oh, and let us also give the address where you can mail your bribes, i mean, campaign donations. We're also trying to get rid of all rules on those donations too. You know, for liberty!

I think most people are starting to realize all the loopholes the wealthy use, but I don't think a flat rate is the answer. Despite the economic growth possible with capitalism, one of its hard to deny flaws (and even countries more socialized than the USA capitalism to some extent) is that the system works best for people that need the least help. Progressive tax rates help make things less one sided in favor of money, and taking a higher percent from a very wealthy person is still asking very little sacrifice in terms of their lifestyle.
