More like 15k but apparently that is splitting hairs. And again, we are talking preventable vs unpreventable. We are also talking about the prolonged mental health of ALL those involved. Also, no one talked about gun laws be adjusted anywhere in the post. That is a bad assumption.
Actually no. When you find breakdowns on car accident fatalities in US they are almost dead even and guns are estimated slightly higher. 37k car accidents and about 40k gun related. Also, I would love to believe that most car accidents are the result of genuine accidents (lapses in judgment, distraction, inexperience, equipment failure, etc) versus vehicular homicide; gun violence is 95%+ intentional with a low % due to misfire. Someone pulled a trigger with the intent to kill. Surely we can at least agree these are different issues?
Mass shootings account for a VERY small percentage of gun violence deaths. They just make the biggest impressions.Almost 40,000 US civilians die by guns each year. Only 14 thousand or so are homicide, fair enough, but that number dwarfs the next 5 countries combined. Everyone wants to argue the mass shootings, but American men are evil to one another each day and the gun IS the weapon of choice to end those CIVIL disputes because it is quick and limits the fight.
Also, we are aware of laws such as this including bans on suppression devices. We are not really looking for a ban, we are looking for THE PEOPLE to identify the gross misuses and voluntarily give up on the gun as a sustainable method to solve civil dispute. 🤔
