Appreciate the history 'lesson' but I doubt the Roman Empire and Persian Empire play much of a factor in coronavirus hah!

Yeah Iran and Italy are really high up on the most successful and advanced civilization list are they? No. They are not major travel hubs. If you have a actual theory of why those countries have been hit so hard, I'd love to hear it.

There are plenty of countries closer to China which replicate closer climate conditions that have not been affected as much. You would expect the Southern Asian countries to be harder hit before the likes of Iran and Italy - especially highly populated counties like India.
