So why didn't I ask a stranger their contact information on a platform that we are already both using? Probably because I have more common sense than that. And no, the Internet is based on passing information from one location to another while protecting the integrity of the information when necessary to do so(tcp/IP). What happens is perversion of the information through the hands of those who pass it on in their own words. Now AI is being used as a translation layer for information which is known to create mistakes, like humans.
Asking why I use the Internet to send messages is like asking why I don't just yell across the country to the east coast.
1) maybe I did that people listening to my conversation
2) I would have to rely on other people saying the same Information for it to reach you.
3) since I care about privacy I wouldnt ask anyone to give out their personal information.
AI is the guy that 15 steps in goes "I'm supposed to get this to joe schmoe in virginia but my uncle is joe schmoe and lives in Kansas" and says yeah the message was delivered as asked.
Personally I don't have a problem with the use of AI. I have a problem with the scale of its deployment. Solve problems in systematic processes through the use of AI to optimize the algorithm so the not ai system is better, fine. Embedding AI in that system and giving it control over crucial decisions in the business process, bad idea.
