A few issues I can name in the name of criticism are double standards (apparently Vine good but TikTok and Youtube bad) doomscrollers and anyone who complains about TikTok and Youtube just for the sake of Vine coming back when, a little known fact, that's why TikTok and Youtube function like that. Yeah, they wanted people to move on from Vine and it worked. On top of that, some people still mentioning what, to share a stance what they like in reality (my original plan what to teach them to hate in moderation but I hate to change it to them shutting up), being technology in general since that's what it narrows down at this point. And lastly, shaming anyone for not growing up/being born in the era they grew up/were born in. I feel like in terms of the last one that I'm the only one who has never shamed anyone for not growing up/being born in the era I grew up/was born in.
Before I forget, honest confession on my stance on nostalgia. If anyone remembers SkyDoesMinecraft. I guess about a decade-ish ago, I remember when Sky got exposed for really bad shit he should've never done (I used to be subscribed to him, I'm that old). Yeah, to paraphrase a Tweet I remember seeing around the time, some people were still defending him (not the case anymore, I'm certain), it said "You're all blinded by nostalgia". So yeah, that's why I acted this way all this time. I don't want that incident to happen again, so I thought it was best to get with the times in terms of the internet.
TLDR, I dislike nostalgia bcs a Minecraft YTber I used to like turned out to be a bad person and vowed to adapt to anything in terms of the internet since.
Serves them right lol. That's what they get for not getting with the times! Modernity has won! I won. Nostalgia blindness loses! Imagine wasting your time on certain things you claim not to like but have liked the whole time (Twitter, Literal Media, Facebook, Google, Wix, etc.)(Proof here: https://knowyourmeme.com/forums/general/topics/67716-vent-thread/page/16#forum_post_1028631 + https://knowyourmeme.com/forums/general/topics/67716-vent-thread/page/16#forum_post_1028586). As for the "AISlop", I recall one time on Twitter, BlueSky, Deviant, etc. that "AISlop" would become a "thing I don't like" around 2025 last year. Sure enough, I was right(https://knowyourmeme.com/forums/general/topics/70726-unpopular-opinions-4/page/1#forum_post_1028665)
And with that, I declare that both sides, corporations and consumers have lost on all ends. Exactly as I was expecting. Hopefully this will teach future people to not act like this.
Yeah, the only lesson here is adapt or get left behind! I'm not even sorry to those left behind, it serves them right!
At the end of the day, rich, middle class or poor, we're just people.
In response to this obviously. (https://www.deviantart.com/triangularfennekin/art/1284899176) I'd rather have brainrot than the current definition of Pepe the Frog!
Does anyone still see Pepe the Frog in its old definition? No? There you go. Dead memes do exist!
