This is specifically for the early 2000's (2000-2003). Also, the GameCube wasn't selling as well Nintendo hoped. Really, we have the GBA to thank for keeping Nintendo around to see the DS era.
If the anime is Pokemon, you will be fine unless it is the banned episode. You know what it is. The beach episodes that happen afterwards are tame enough so you won't get humiliated.
