True, true. But the only a minority can see the curses. It's not the norm to see a curse, (with the exception of transfigured humans (but those guys aren't really curses,)) so it is not a world where that "special ability" is everything and the protagonist doesn't get bullied for not having that ability, because it is not normal. That one girl in Nanami's flashback couldn't see the curse on her shoulder even though she could feel it. HELL MAKI CAN'T EVEN SEE CURSES WITH OUT HER GLASSES! (*sigh* this is why I have depression...)
