The law that allows 18 yr olds to buy guns dates back to, and hasn't been changed since 1968. The law focuses on long guns. Assault rifles are considered long guns. Because they are focused on the word rifle, not the word assault. Not changing with the times is what is absurd and dangerous. Not to mention completely ignorant of the world around us. Taking assault rifles out of the hands of regular citizens is exactly what needs to be done. Defending the right to keep assault rifles, while our children are being slaughtered in schools is dangerous, absurd, and most defitintly ignorant. Thinking that guns are more important that the right to a safe education is completely crazy. Being combative and protective about guns and not public safety baffles me. I can't dress up as a Hobbit and go to the movies, but I can carry a gun into a movie theater. Because of a guy with a gun. Laws need to change with the times. Sorry if you dont agree. Thats not an apology, thats pity on you.

Gun stores could have those policies, but they don't. Insurance companies could have those policies, but they don't. We could make it law, but we wont.
