sorry to hate, put that ant d-day. thats the river crossings at nijegen on opperation market garden. the person is part of the 82ND AIRBORNE not the 1ST INFANTRY. you can tell by the airborne patch on the right sleve and the chinstrap. (note the jumpboots and pack on the helmet.)
