There are 2 types of Illuminati. Modern mythical Illuminati, and 1700s Illuminati. The 1700s Illuminati was founded by Adam Weishapt, it was against superstition, etc. It was banned due to the fact that the organization was growing, and could theoretically take over several governments simultaneously.
