and i do pay attention to movement; it's not as hard when i do it as others because i use a mouse and keyboard. that's not as common anymore as it once was; in fact, if i remember correctly, in the 2022 CDL tournament out of 150 people playing only 3 were using mouse and keyboard. i think it's less convenient but far easier. (im using an xbox one/playstation four with an old HP keyboard from God knows when and a Dell mouse from one of those office PCs)
have you never played a modern call of duty game
okay so with the movement systems introduced in Modern Warfare 2019 and refined in later games, a type of player has been reintroduced into the series for the first time since 2014-2016, when jetpack movement was found in the titles Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare. you may be familiar with a camper, a player who sits in one corner with a high powered but sometimes slow weapon and waits for people to come into their view to hit them.
the polar opposite of a camper is a movement demon. a movement demon usually is very well practiced and plays in a fast paced, quick-thinking style. they always make the most of faster weapons and equipment and abuse the game's movement mechanics to give them an incrbedible edge. (this in turn gives them a benefit many don't talk or know about: peeker's advantage, or the delay between two game clients which often ruins other players' perception of the game and therefore reaction time. i will explain this if you ask me to.) in Black Ops 6, with the introduction of faster sliding and diving mechanics which go in all directions and the far quicker stim shot time, movement demons are allowed to thrive.
in between them are just moderately skilled players who play somewhere in between the two. a common style is to comb through the areas slowly or stay in the same few areas and kill players they find through gunfights (which i find i cannot generalize under one term). my style is to run through the map, checking corners, and shoot anyone i see; sometimes i fall back and snipe people if i think im doing poorly, because my aim will always be good, the problem will just be my reflexes and fast thinking.
