“Ugh.. This heatwave…. can’t..” I mumbled, fixing Shadow’s grappling hook I made him.

I mean.. The Shadow.

The man who could sneak into basically anything he wanted to and treat it like nothing? Yeah.

I wiped the sweat off my forehead with the back of my arm.

“Tecno.”

“AAAAAAGH—“

I jumped, looking to my side. Speak of the devil.

He placed a water bottle in front of me, ignoring the fact he scared me to death.

“You need to hydrate,” He stated, looking at me.

“Y-yeah..” I responded shakily.

“How’s the repair coming along.”

“Uh.. Good! Yeah.”

I grabbed the water, taking a sip while he stayed nearby.

“So.. how are you?” I asked.

“Haven’t been busy lately, You?”

“I’m good. Made a few more things although some.. Exploded in my face.. And yet I’m unscathed.”

“Must be strong then.”

..He joked with me?

“Yeah! What, you haven’t seen?” I joked back, flexing my arm. “Wanna touch?”

He looked.

“You’re sweaty.”

“..So you would’ve otherwise.”

“No.”

“Sure.”

Silence passed like that, allowing me to finish the repair.

“Shadow.”

“Done?”

“Yup.”

He walked over, taking it from me to inspect “Thank you.”

“No problem,” I responded.

After a few seconds, I spoke up again. “So.. Where are you from? I never knew.”

Shadow glanced at me before responding. “I was born here.. But my parents were British.”

“Where?” I questioned.

“Don’t dig into that.”

“..Ok.”

“What about you?” Shadow asked.

“Mm.. My Dad’s Australian, My Mom’s from America.”

“Where in Australia?”

“Tasmania.. Why? Think you can copy the accent?”

“..Perhaps.”

“Let me hear it?”

“No.”

“Aw..”
