Later that afternoon, the conversation in the Solar wrapped up. I could barely imagine the princess beforehand, but now… She truly is a sweetheart. Truly.
I had been dismissed only minutes earlier, as the knights were told to stand guard outside. They were to have a meeting about something that we couldn't even hear a whisper.
I wonder what.
Alas, it's no business of mine anyway.
Well! Who would I be as a prince who doesn’t even know his own castle? It wouldn’t be of much trouble if I ventured on my own accord, I’m royalty after all; So it has its perks, although some of them.. Aren’t so nice, in my opinion.
Putting my first foot forward, I made my way to the hallway.
Signs.. Staircases.. Grand pictures…
Heavens, this place was massive. More traditional, I’d say.
…Well of course I appreciate the intricacy dearly, but it’s quite overwhelming for someone like me.
Too much space to think.
Back home, everything isn’t quite so.. Sized.
With our technology, everything doesn’t need to be so grand. Everything can be smaller, yet just as great.
Continuing on, I spotted the Dining Hall. People laughed over beer inside, one seeming to be Sir Aureliu—Wait no, that was Aurelius. If he’s here, then the meeting in The Solar must’ve concluded.
Adjacent to the Dining Hall² lie the kitchen. Some bakers were stationed, making desserts for the knights in the previous room.
Ahead, there was a locked door. Luccretia had informed me of a treasury. I wonder if it was this door? It was metal, so I'd assume it to be important. Just in case, I went to test the lock, but I was firmly told by a guard not to enter. Despite being royalty, I did as told. I’m not one for trouble.
Outside is where The Stables and Gardens rested. I took the initiative to give a ‘Hello’ to the feeding horses. My, they were nice. This specific jet black mare pressed its nose against my hand, happy to see me. I was told about her name, Phantom. What a beautiful horse, strong as well.
Once my exploration slowed to an end, I traveled back to my chambers.
That was quite a nice afternoon, really.
Later, I’d go out again to get something to eat. I wonder if Valoria's kitchen is better than ours?
..Well I guess that shouldn't be of much worry.
Two soft raps came at the door, pulling me from my thoughtful daze.
“Cassiel? Are you in there?”
Ah! I’d know that voice from anywhere, cherubic in its tone. I wonder why she’s come to visit.
“Yes, Princess.”
“May I enter?”
“Of course.”
