Pretty sure there are people who try to speak for "us" or they just have a narrower way of interpretation. Some people do believe the earth was created in 4004 B.C. & they will stick to their guns because Bishop Ussher declared it to be so from his interpretation, about 1650. A lot happened before 1650 and afterwards. To me it's similar to the people who said "Jesus will come in 1856...1900...1927...1982..." Most Christians who believe the bible have a much different interpretation. And believing 'progressive creation or evolution' does not mean we are antichrist! We want to reach people with the truth of the gospel, not distract them because of human dogma.

I am not affiliated in any way with the Hebroots movement, but they have done a nice job of presenting the chronology from Adam to Jesus. Have a look, it'http://www.hebroots.com/lul7_8.htmls why we fundamentalists persist.

I looked at the site & some other sites. I believe that the English translations of certain Hebrew words are inaccurate. Bishop Ussher was a good scholar, but he also had to use non biblical sources for his calculations to try to match the dates. I just hope people don't miss the message of the gospel by getting confused. Jesus is God, and the bible is the word of God, inerrant in the original meanings of the original languages. We just can't understand all of it clearly.
