And if I disagree with ANY of it I can leave. To try and compare employment to slavery seriously lessens the evil that was slavery, and quite frankly is offensive. An employer may not beat, rape, or even kill me with impunity, as a slave owner could. Employment is a voluntary exchange. If you think what you are receiving is unfair, you can leave. If you don't like your hours, you can leave. From time to time you can even call out sick. None of that is possible as a slave.
It is a shame that modern society has made it where we cannot simply live off the land (which was it's own unpleasant struggle). People have ALWAYS had to work for a living in one way or another. Work hours and living conditions have always been determined by your work. Once it was your ability to build your own shelter, collect food and water, and survive the elements.
This idea that everyone is entitled to an easy life without work is modern and false.
