No, if I leave, my employer cannot legally track me down and bring me back against my will. My employer can not breed me with another employee to produce more employees.

But you have to show up when they want you to if you want to keep your job, they determine your worth by how much they pay you, the amount of income determines the type of home and vehicle you have, and many other ways (if I need to list even more for you).

And if I disagree with ANY of it I can leave. To try and compare employment to slavery seriously lessens the evil that was slavery, and quite frankly is offensive. An employer may not beat, rape, or even kill me with impunity, as a slave owner could. Employment is a voluntary exchange. If you think what you are receiving is unfair, you can leave. If you don't like your hours, you can leave. From time to time you can even call out sick. None of that is possible as a slave.
It is a shame that modern society has made it where we cannot simply live off the land (which was it's own unpleasant struggle). People have ALWAYS had to work for a living in one way or another. Work hours and living conditions have always been determined by your work. Once it was your ability to build your own shelter, collect food and water, and survive the elements.
This idea that everyone is entitled to an easy life without work is modern and false.

And if you leave, you have to find a new employer. You might not get physically raped, but if you just bought a new house or car and just lost your job for one reason or another, without that income to pay for those purchases wouldn't you feel screwed?
You clearly do not understand the concept of this meme and what it is stating when you think that I am trying to compare this to slavery. And now you have taken all the fun of this meme away from me because now I have to explain it. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/slave Look at the second definition. "a person who is strongly influenced and controlled by something." Everyone is a slave to something- meaning there is at least one thing if not more that controls their life in one way or another. You can be considered a slave to your family. Stating that someone is a slave does not constitute that the comparison is being made directly to slavery, and I take offense to the fact that you made that comparison when that is not what the meme states. If the meme stated "Having a job is just like being in slavery" then your comparison works. However stating that you are a slave is something completely different. You are way off base here and should just leave this meme now.

I'm sorry. My interpretation of your meme was influenced by the fact that I have recently just had an argument with someone who honestly was trying to compare minimum wage jobs with actual slavery. But under your interpretation, it is impossible to not be a slave, even if only to nature which requires you eat, sleep, and breathe.

BTW, is employment really a voluntary exchange? You are required to have some method of payment for when it comes to buying goods and services, whether that is money or using the barter system. Nothing is free and it never has been free. Even if you lived off of the land, your entire day is spent keeping everything up and going. There really isn't any down time, so your payment for living off of the land would be a resemblance to the barter system in that you would give all your time to the land and the land will hopefully give you something back. In the concept of living off of the land, you could actually be considered a slave to the land.

Maybe nect time you decide to make a comment about a comparison someone makes, you will take the time to look at all the definitions of the words, not just the worst ones.

And did you even consider that instead of lessening the evils of rape, that a comparison to work could actually increase the evils of work?

You was the one who started taking things too far, not me. I can very easily make the comparison of the 2 on a figurative basis. If you can't handle that the comparison can be made that is your problem, not mine. The fact still remains you never inderstood what this meme was saying because you always look for the worst in things.
