ROFL! I think many of us know "exactly" what it means!!!! It's the trolls that troll,... that don't know what it means. ha ha!

To me a troll is someone who intentionally "bothers" (for lack of a better term) someone or a group of people for the sake of bothering them. If someone has legitimate opinions that differ from others and that person expresses them. ..even passionately or in a way that may be considered rude or negative....that doesn't make them a troll...in my opinion. On here I am sure I am considered a troll by conservatives because I post comments and views that debate or argue against many conservative memes and their messages and consequently against their authors. However....I'm not a troll. I'm someone with an opinion. And this is an open forum. I'm not posting my comments for the sake of just pissing off someone. If they get pissed off...oh well. And I'm sure that's their attitude towards pissing off me and others like me with their memes or comments. And that's fine too.

your comment has 2 different messages. Myself,... I believe anyone who is intentionally rude or negative, regardless of the opinion,.. is trolling. I do believe their are different levels of trolling though. The alt acct troll,... the troll with a legit account that hardly submits memes but keeps the acct to make asshole comments,... then the negative commenter troll who can't tolerate opinions that differ from their own,... the intentional troll trying to get a rise out of commenters,... etc. The list goes on.

No comment should be inflammatory in my opinon. Its a sign of weakness when someone is unable to tolerate another opinion to the extent of rude / inflammatory remarks. Everyone is in control of how they comment,... so rude comments are intentional,.. and some level of trolling. There are ways to express an opinion and still be respectful. No one gets the copyrights to an opinion,... (in my opinion). =) After all,.. it's a meme. Some users freak out,.. over a meme. ha ha! Imagine having to live with somone who can't control themselves over a meme??!! ROFL! I upvote comments that don't agree with me to acknowledge respect of their opinion. If they turn into an @ss,... I ignore. When you ignore someone,.. they aren't really there. =) I don't get baited into being counter-rude. After all,.. ones comments are a reflection of their own personality,... not mine. I wake up happy,.. I meme happy,.. I go to bed happy,.. and troll free! =)

People have different meanings of "inflammatory" just like people find different things "offensive"

By your standards I could say the conservative memes that I find inflammatory would be authored by trolls. I don't think they are necessarily trolls....but if their sole intention is to piss off people like me, then yes....they would be "trolling". And trolls gonna troll. If their intention is to insight reactions from like minded people...great...but be prepared for those with differing views to comment. And those people are not necessarily trolls either. If their sole intent is to piss off people....then yeah....I call "troll". The bottom line is this site is a basically a forum. You have to take all comments as opinions. Engage those you like and ignore those you dont. BUT simply calling people with differing points of view "trolls" isn't going to make it a better experience. (There's a "you're gonna have a bad time" meme in there somewhere)

Noooo,... you misunderstood some of my comment,.. thats a problem when peeps can't talk over a beer and are using brief messages. =) No meme can be trolling. Its a meme for crying out loud. " You have to take all comments as opinions". I disagree. Users make comments for a variety of reasons. Everyone is in control of their comments. If you make a rude comment,.. you "chose" to. Everyone can relay opinions respectfully,... anything other than that is either a poor upbringing where they need lessons in manners and tolerance,.. or they choose to be an ass. If you are arguing with your wife at home,.. you may say some things you would not say in public,... and in a more heated tone. If you were having that disagreement in public,... your tone and language would be more mild. (For reasonable people - not talking about exceptions). Some users here speak rudely because they are not in public,.. they are in the privacy of their laptop,.. phone. tablet,.. whatever,.. and use that advantage to be an ass,.. when their tone would be different infront of others where their jaw would be slapped to the back of their head. =) I agree that opposing views do not make on a troll,... but rudeness is. Its intentional, because most know better and would not be rude "in public". Its a public forum,.. but no excuse to be rude.
Here's my bottom line opinion.. for whatever its worth. If a user looks forward to our comments,.. then we are doing something right. If a user see's our comments and think "oh shit"... or dread what the comment may say,... then there's a problem. I don't ever want to be the "dreaded commenter".. so thats how I conduct myself.

I get what you're saying but it's your POV. ...I find MANY of the more conservative folks on here rude. I find their comments rude. I find their memes rude...and in many cases offensive. BUT I don't necessarily think they are trolls. In your POV....they are.

But I'm sure they aren't TO YOU. Because of your POV. It's aligned with theirs....so you're either all trolls....or none of you are....unless the sole intention of the meme or comment is to inflame someone or someones. Then it's trollish.

Did I misunderstand? It sounded like you could place the blame on rude comments,.. on the person that made the meme. As in,.. "That meme offended me therefore I can comment rudely". POV may be a little hard to relay in a comment,.. I think basically we agree more than less. I see rude comments in control of the commenter,... and never really necessary at anytime. I have been terse with a few trolls,... but no one has any examples of me being an ass on someones meme because I disagreed with it. Not all memes are meant for everyone,... they appeal to likeminded users. If someone don't like the meme or disagree with it,.. why play social justice meme cop and flame up the comments? Just ignore it... its easy. I don't agree with ANY trolling,... but I am yet to see liberal memes trolled. . or flamed. Why is that? Why do liberal trolls feel they must flame the comments of a conservative meme? I am calling it how I see it,... you make liberal memes,... ever been trolled? On a regular basis,.. or just have a few exception examples? I can scroll through my conservative themed memes and see trolls on every one.

A. You are looking at "rude" comments through your own glasses. What you deem "rude" may not be rude to others. For arguments sake let's say there are liberal comments disputing the message in a conservative meme or the conservative comments on it. I've personally never seen rude comments from liberals like you describe. Send over some links where this happened. The underlying point is, it's easy to say you (the generic you. ..not you personally) see or don't see things given your pov. I'm colorblind. I don't see certain colors. No matter how many times you say something is purple I simply can't see it the same way. If you refuse to acknowledge this the conversation is done I guess. There's no point beating a dead horse.

B. There are simply less liberal memes that get featured let alone on the front page or 2 where most comments come in. Send over some liberal meme links that are on the first 3 pages...lets see the comments.

Did you just give me an ultimatum? I think you know what is rude,.. and what isn't,.. no sense going there. Name calling,... saying "you're f#cking stupid",.. "conservatard"... and personal attacks are trolling to me. What does it prove? It proves someone is intolerant and/or controlling,.. and gets mad when they can't control the comments. I am not gonna prove anything by going through old memes,.. and sending links... but when I see them,.. I will send them,.. how about that?

The users decide what is upvoted or makes front page,.. not the creators. If there is more users that agree with conservative themes,.. they will make front page I guess. If there are more liberal users,... the same applies. But as far as "featured" goes,.... I disagree. I have a potload of memes that never made it out of submission hell. Ive had to just delete them. I don't know about liberal memes that get same treatment... not sure how any of it works,.. only my experience. You have a good comment thread!
