I don't think this advice is right. You don't know in advance what's going to be more relatable and funnier. There's no harm in using submissions to experiment with different things and taking some risks.
I used to just churn out half assed ones for the twenty points, but they never got anywhere. So I think I probably should've said that making memes just because you can won't get you anything.
