It's basically an upgraded episode 4. I guess you can say it's like the madden games. A new one comes out every year it's basically the same game with one or two added features.

I would have said downgraded, in the case of Episode 7. The action scenes weren't as good (there were hardly any, anyway) and neither were the characters.
